Painted branches
The ink twigs follow the classic composition of East Asian flower painting: one branch entering from the edge, blossoms clustered on thin shoots, much of the space left empty. Some are loose and splashy, others more finished with visible bark texture.
Decorating with twigs
A twig in a corner of the page frames a heading without covering it, which is why these images are popular for Lunar New Year cards, tea menus and invitations. The wrought-iron scrollwork is a different kind of ‘twig’ — a metal ornament suited to vintage and garden-furniture designs.
Questions and answers
Is the transparency real or a painted checkerboard?
Yes. Every file is checked for an alpha channel rather than a white or chequered backdrop. Images without real transparency do not enter the catalogue.
What sizes are available?
The largest files in this set reach 3 630 px. For print choose 2000 px and up in PNG; for the web 500–800 px in WebP.
Do I need to register to download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
What is the licence?
Personal and educational projects — freely. For commercial use check the rights with the original source, especially for logos, characters and photos of people.
