A pen dipping into a round inkwell of blue ink, a carved wooden fork, an open cigar box and a single banded cigar, a coiled LED strip, framed paintings of a red cow and a meadow cow on canvas, a watercolour shield outline — and brush sweeps and charcoal smears that belong to effects rather than objects.

Things you pick up
The section covers the physical stuff of daily life. Tableware — cup, plate, spoon, fork, knife, bottle; furniture — table, chair, sofa, bed, lamp, mirror; tools — hammer, screwdriver, wrench, toolbox, ladder; carried things — bag, backpack, wallet, suitcase, key, umbrella; and writing — paper, pencil, pen. The categories are narrow on purpose, so one object is one click away.
Product shot or pictogram
The same object appears as a studio photo with shine and shadow, as an old engraving and as a flat line sign. The photo sells or shows the real thing; the engraving lends period charm to a menu or a history page; the pictogram labels a section of an app or a manual. Decide on the role before the object.
Scale between photos
Photos of separate objects carry no sense of size: a key and a desk can come out the same height. When combining several in one layout, size them against something familiar — a hand, a chair — so the arrangement stays believable.
