Drop among the effects
In Light & Effects, splash covers liquid thrown in motion, explosion bursts of fire and debris, light glows and flares. Drop is the smallest unit of liquid: single beads, clusters, drips running down. Splats sit on the border with splash; if you need the crown of a wave or a thrown glass of water, look there.
Clean, bright, dark
Transparent water drops are for anything that should feel fresh: skincare, cleaning products, drinking water. The blue beads with highlights are more graphic and hold up on a banner. The green splat is loud and playful, good for a sale sticker or paint shop. Red drips belong to horror posters and Halloween games and look out of place anywhere near medical topics.
Transparency matters here
Clear drops are built from semi-transparent pixels, so they take on the colour of whatever lies beneath. Test them on your real background: on white they can almost disappear, on a photo they read best over a darker, even area. Avoid scaling small droplets up a lot; their highlights turn blurry.
