Its place among the backgrounds
The Frames and Backgrounds section already has Background, Texture and Desktop Wallpaper for full-surface fills. This category is narrower and odder: it gathers pictures the source once filed under screen wallpaper, most of them single motifs rather than edge-to-edge images. Treat them as ingredients for a wallpaper, not the finished thing.
Checking a file before you build
Because most pieces will be enlarged, look at them at full size first. Brush strokes and sprays should keep their grain, not dissolve into blocky pixels. Soft elements such as the space patch or the watercolour bands need a gradual fade to transparency; a hard edge will show as a seam once they sit on a coloured desktop.
Screen proportions
A desktop runs wide, a phone runs tall, and few motifs here fit either shape as delivered. Place the picture off-centre and let a flat colour fill the rest, leaving the middle free for icons. Dark splashes read best on pale grounds; bright ones hold up on black.
