Paper as the thing itself
In the Objects section, Paper sits next to Pencil, pen and box. It holds the sheet as an object — notepads, scores, worksheets, printed pages — rather than paper textures for backgrounds. For torn edges, crumpled sheets and grain to lay behind a design, the Frames & Backgrounds section is the better stop.
Printed pages and diagrams
Many files here are finished documents: sheet music, a science worksheet, a genealogical chart, a data graph. They work as illustrations of the idea — a music school, a history lesson, a weather report — not as material to read. Text on them is usually too small to be legible at page width.
Paper cutting
The red rooster and the rat seal come from folk papercut, a craft where the picture is carved out of one sheet. They are strongest at large sizes on a plain background, where the lace of the cuts can be seen.
