Licence and rights

The catalogue collects PNG images with a transparent background from public sources. Rights differ from picture to picture: there is no single licence covering all of them, and we do not claim ownership of what we did not draw.

What you may do

Download any image, change its size and colours, save it in another format and use it in personal work: a presentation, a school project, a poster for yourself, a draft layout. Nothing has to be paid for and no account is needed.

What to check before commercial use

Before you put an image into something you sell or advertise, check the rights with the original source. Logos, film and game characters, photographs of people and works of living artists are protected even when the file is easy to find. A transparent background does not make a picture free to use.

What you may not do

Do not resell the images as a set, do not pass them off as your own work and do not use them where they would mislead: on documents, packaging or advertising that implies a link to a brand which is not yours.

For rights holders

If an image belongs to you and you want it removed, tell us and it will be taken down. The quickest way is the complaint form on the page of that image: open the picture and press ยซReport a problemยป under the download button. Say what is wrong and, if you can, how we may confirm the rights โ€” a link to the original publication is usually enough.

We do not require a lawyer, a form or a fee. A picture in dispute is removed first and sorted out afterwards.
