Fixtures more than glow
Within Light & Effects this category is the odd one out. Neighbours such as Flame, Glitter, Smoke and Explosion hold overlays you lay on top of a picture; Light mostly holds the lamps themselves, photographed as products. The cyan ray burst is the main exception and behaves like an effect.
Period, home and street
The fixtures fall into rough groups: ornate pieces like the chandelier and the palace lantern, domestic lamps, and technical hardware such as the street head and LED tape. They were shot at different angles and under different light, so a catalogue page reads better if you stay within one group.
Getting the ray burst to blend
Thin rays on transparency look flat in normal blend mode on a light page. On a dark layout, or set to Screen or Add, they glow the way they were meant to. Scale the burst evenly rather than stretching it: the rays thin out unevenly when the proportions change.
