A glossy orange face with bulging eyes and a stuck-out tongue, a cartoon sun in a blue sun hat with freckles and yellow rays, and a grinning yellow smiley in the middle of a rainbow jester’s star with little bells on each point.

Emoji among the icons
The Icons section also has Smiley, Sticker, Avatar and Button. Emoji is for expressive faces and small reaction pictures in the spirit of chat keyboards — faces first, but also the objects and gestures that people send instead of words.
Not the system set
These are hand-drawn, glossy faces in the style of early messenger packs, not the emoji your phone shows. That is their advantage: they carry no platform look and can go on a party flyer, a kids' worksheet or a comment-section banner without looking like a screenshot.
Picking a mood
The tongue-out face is silliness and teasing; the sun in a hat is summer holidays and good weather; the jester star is celebration with a wink — April Fools, carnival, a birthday. Their outlines and highlights stay clear down to about forty pixels; below that the eyes blur, so a flat smiley works better as a tiny icon.
