Plum branches in ink, some sparse and pale, some crowded with pink or red blossom, a lotus above floating leaves, a cherry branch in soft translucent layers, a loose bouquet of orange blooms, a black and white floral motif with fine veining, and frames: a circle of scrolls and a wooden one topped with pansies and lavender.

The core of Nature
Flower is the widest category in the Nature section and sits next to narrower ones: Rose, Tulip, Sunflower, Petal, Flowering Plant, Floral Design. Come here when the kind of flower does not matter; go to Rose or Tulip when it does. Floral Design is the better stop for ornaments where the flower is only a pattern.
Painted versus cut out
Two families dominate. Brush paintings — ink plum branches, watercolour lotuses — carry a lot of empty space and are meant to sit at the edge of a layout. Photographed or rendered flowers are cut tight around the petals and can fill a product card or a greeting on their own.
Checking the edges
Petals and thin stems are where a cutout usually fails. Open the file at full size and look for a pale fringe around the outline; on a dark background it shows at once. Painted branches rarely have this problem, which is one reason they are so easy to reuse.
