Wardrobe, accessories, grooming

The section splits into three shelves. Garments — clothing, dress, shirt, jacket, coat, skirt, Jeans, suit, uniform, costume; footwear — shoe, boot, high heels, sock; and everything worn on top — hat, bag, jewellery, ring, necklace, watch, sunglasses. Cosmetics, makeup, lipstick, nail polish and perfume close the list. On this overview they are mixed; a category narrows the choice to one kind of item.

Catalogue shots, not runway

Most items are photographed alone, without a model, in soft even light: the boots, the court shoes, the cap. That is the look of a shop listing, a size guide or a packing list, where the object has to be read at a glance. For a mood board or a lookbook, a whole outfit on a figure is rarer here and worth searching for by category.

Keep one direction

When several shoes or bags share a row, they should face the same way and be shot from the same height. Mixing a side view with a three-quarter view makes a shelf look untidy even if every photo is good; flip a picture horizontally in the editor rather than settle for a mismatched set.
