A structured light scanner on a stand above a turntable, two crossed spark plugs with freshly machined threads, an aluminium case opened on a tray of screwdriver bits — and a crow in mid-step that wandered in on a wrong label.

The general shelf of Objects
Wrench, hammer, screwdriver and toolbox each have their own category in Objects. Tool takes everything that doesn't fit one of those names: whole sets in cases, measuring devices, workshop machines, spare parts, the gear of a trade in general.
Photo or outline
The spark plugs and the bit case are product shots — a parts shop, a repair guide, a gift list for someone who builds things. The scanner belongs to a lab or a prototyping service. For a menu button or a step in instructions, a flat outline of a single tool reads better at small size than any photo.
Metal is tricky
Chrome and polished steel reflect whatever surrounded them in the studio, and cutting them out often leaves traces of the old background in the highlights. Zoom in on the shiny parts before use. Handles and cases often carry a maker's name: remove it if the image goes into an ad.
