Real animals and emblems
Part of the set shows animals as they are: photographs and careful drawings for zoo pages, school projects and field guides. The other part turns animals into signs, such as a golden bull for rising markets, an ox or a tiger inside an octagon for a zodiac calendar.
Engravings
The donkey and the armadillo are drawn in fine hatching, like plates from an old encyclopaedia. They print well in one colour and suit vintage logos and naturalist blogs, but shrink poorly: the hatching merges into grey.
Screens and frames
Two pictures show a zebra and a tiger on a television screen. They are really mock-ups of electronics and belong on a shop listing rather than in a wildlife article.
Questions and answers
Is the transparency real or a painted checkerboard?
Yes. Every file is checked for an alpha channel rather than a white or chequered backdrop. Images without real transparency do not enter the catalogue.
Are there large files for print?
The largest files in this set reach 4 117 px. For print choose 2000 px and up in PNG; for the web 500–800 px in WebP.
Do I need to register to download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
Can I use fauna images commercially?
Terms depend on the specific image. We neither sell files nor issue licences; for commercial work check the source named on the image page.
