Winter — free PNG images to download
Cold-season pictures, some literal and some loose: a snowman peeking through blue curtains, a wolf-headed figure in a patterned jumper and scarf, shaggy ginger sheep, a chamois on a rock and a bamboo grove in blue-grey wash.

Snow and cosy knits
The snowman and the wolf in a jumper cover the two faces of winter: outdoor snow and indoor warmth. The snowman suits shop windows and school notices; the wolf has a folk-tale, slightly ironic feel for bar menus and quirky prints.
Animals of cold places
Thick-fleeced sheep and a mountain chamois suggest winter through the animals themselves. They fit wool producers, mountain wildlife pages and countryside banners without any snow in the frame.
A cool palette
The bamboo painting is not a winter scene, but its blue-grey tones give the same chilly calm. It works as a background for seasonal text where a snowflake would feel too obvious.
Questions and answers
Are all winter images really transparent?
Yes. Every file is checked for an alpha channel rather than a white or chequered backdrop. Images without real transparency do not enter the catalogue.
What sizes are available?
In winter the sizes run from 800 to 1 800 px on the long side. Large ones are easiest to find with the “Largest” sort or the minimum-width filter.
How many files can I download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
What is the licence?
The catalogue gathers images from open sources. Before commercial use confirm the rights with the author — the source link is on the image page.
