Science and fun
The banded planet, the nebula and the physics schematic serve lessons and planetarium pages. The cartoon rocket belongs to kids’ parties and launch slides, where accuracy matters less than cheer.
Space as a word
The tag also means empty room, so translucent cloud wisps and smoke puffs turn up. They are useful overlays for collages even if they have nothing to do with the stars.
Questions and answers
Is the transparency real or a painted checkerboard?
Yes. Every file is checked for an alpha channel rather than a white or chequered backdrop. Images without real transparency do not enter the catalogue.
Are there large files for print?
Originals range from 800 to 4 096 pixels. On download you can shrink to 64–1024 px; enlarging beyond the original is not offered.
Do I need to register to download?
No sign-up needed. The file is served after a short wait on the download page.
Can I use space images commercially?
The catalogue gathers images from open sources. Before commercial use confirm the rights with the author — the source link is on the image page.
