Where image Resolution images come in handy
Most of these images go into layouts: banners, slides, video thumbnails, menus and signage. Thanks to transparency the object can be laid over a photo or a gradient, and empty margins can be removed with “Trim edges” on the image page.
Finding the right image quickly
Check the size under the thumbnail: it is the original resolution, and stretching beyond it will blur. The file weight hints at the graphics inside — flat illustrations are light, cut-out photographs noticeably heavier.
How to download and in which formats
Open the image page and press “Download PNG” — the file comes at its original resolution, with no watermark and no sign-up. Next to it: WebP for the web, JPG where transparency is not needed, ICO for icons. Before downloading you can pick a size from 64 to 1024 px.
Questions and answers
Is the transparency real or a painted checkerboard?
Yes. Every file is checked for an alpha channel rather than a white or chequered backdrop. Images without real transparency do not enter the catalogue.
What sizes are available?
In image Resolution the sizes run from 997 to 2 000 px on the long side. Large ones are easiest to find with the “Largest” sort or the minimum-width filter.
Do I need to register to download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
What is the licence?
Personal and educational projects — freely. For commercial use check the rights with the original source, especially for logos, characters and photos of people.
