Three of the images are line work: a parish church with pointed windows, a domed church with arched windows and visible masonry, and an eastern tower with an arched gate among trees. Being black on transparent, they print cleanly in books and handouts and can be turned into colouring pages.
Heraldry and humour
The shield is a full heraldic composition — tower crown, castle on a white field, green and yellow bands below — fit for reference articles and local history projects. The collage with a laughing man in an ushanka holding a bottle is a joke sticker, not a historical source; keep it for light-hearted posts rather than lessons.

Are all history images really transparent?
Real. We parse the PNG structure and keep only files with an alpha channel; anything with a painted-in background has been removed.
Are there large files for print?
The largest files in this set reach 2 400 px. For print choose 2000 px and up in PNG; for the web 500–800 px in WebP.
Do I need to register to download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
What is the licence?
Terms depend on the specific image. We neither sell files nor issue licences; for commercial work check the source named on the image page.
