Letters as illustrations
These are not fonts you type with but individual pictures of letters. Each one is finished on its own, with texture and shadow, so they work best as a single initial: a monogram, the first letter of a name on a nursery wall, the opening letter of a heading.
Texture sets the mood
Fabric and hearts suggest babies, Valentine's Day and handmade crafts. Glitter is for parties and birthdays. Chequers bring a racing flag or a game to mind, while red gingham belongs to picnics, bakeries and country kitchens.
Mixing with plain type
Pair one of these letters with a quiet, simple font for the rest of the word. Two or three richly textured letters next to each other compete for attention and quickly become hard to read.
Questions and answers
Are all cursive images really transparent?
All 5 images carry a real alpha channel. On the image page you can switch the backdrop to white or dark to see the edges.
Are there large files for print?
Originals range from 1 200 to 1 716 pixels. On download you can shrink to 64–1024 px; enlarging beyond the original is not offered.
Do I need to register to download?
No registration. The only limit is a few dozen files per minute per address, so the catalogue cannot be bulk-scraped.
What is the licence?
Personal and educational projects — freely. For commercial use check the rights with the original source, especially for logos, characters and photos of people.
