Frogs versus other reptiles and amphibians
In the Animals section, frogs sit apart from the Reptile category: smooth damp skin, long hind legs, bulging eyes. They turn up in pond and wetland themes, science lessons on life cycles, fairy tales with a frog prince, and a lot of cheerful children's art.
Colour tells the species
A bright blue or orange frog is a dart frog from the tropics; a brown warty one is a toad from a garden. Pick the right one if the text is about a real habitat. Photos with wet skin reflect a lot of light, so check that bright highlights haven't been clipped into white patches during cut-out.
