Where cubes sit among abstract shapes
Next to spheres, polygons and flat geometric patterns, this category gathers anything with six square faces: wireframe solids, stacked blocks, glass and ice cubes. The point is volume. A square stays flat on the page, while a cube needs light, a shadow side and edges that recede, and that is what tells it apart from its neighbours.
What makes a usable cube image
Check that the faces read in perspective and that the lightest face matches the light in your layout. Transparent objects such as ice or glass should keep their inner reflections without a leftover background tint, otherwise they look muddy on coloured backdrops.
Sizes and formats
Ice and glass cubes work best as large PNGs with real alpha, so the edges blend into drinks menus or summer banners. Simple geometric cubes for diagrams and icons are easier to recolour if you trace them as vectors.
