How it differs from the fonts next door
The text and fonts section splits letters by job. Alphabet and letter pages gather single characters and full sets; lettering and handwriting hold phrases drawn by hand; quote collects finished sayings. Typography is where type itself becomes the subject: one glyph designed with care, a word built from smaller marks, a number styled for a sign. It suits work where the shape of a character carries the message.
What makes a usable file
Check the edges at full size. Clean vector-like contours survive enlarging; letters cut from a photo often keep a pale fringe that shows on dark backgrounds. Metallic and embossed capitals should have their shadow inside the transparent area rather than baked onto a white box. For numbers you plan to set in a row, pick files from one series so stroke weight and circle size match.
Fitting it into a layout
A decorative initial works best large and alone, followed by body copy in an ordinary typeface. Hand-lettered phrases are already composed, so give them breathing room instead of adding more text around them. If the design needs editable wording, use these pieces as accents and set the rest in a real font.
