Graph, chart or diagram?
In Business & Finance these three sit side by side and overlap. Graph is for plotted data proper: bars, lines, curves on axes, anything that shows values changing over time or between groups. Diagram leans toward boxes and arrows, Chart toward finished dashboard widgets, and Presentation toward whole slides.
Real data versus decoration
A graph lifted from an actual report, like this one, carries real labels and numbers — fine for a lesson on reading charts, awkward as a generic growth symbol. For a pitch deck or a banner, a stylised rising line without axis text says the same thing without inviting questions about the source.
What to inspect
Thin gridlines and small axis labels are the first to disappear when the file is scaled down. Check that the chart area really is transparent rather than white, and that the title is not something you would rather not publish under your own heading.
