Engine within transport
Car, Motorcycle and Airplane show the whole vehicle, wheel a single visible part. Engine goes under the bonnet: complete motors, cutaway diagrams, pistons and crankshafts, turbines, spark and glow plugs, belts and the other parts that make a machine move.
Diagram or part
A cutaway engine with coloured sections suits a technical explainer, a driving school handout or a museum panel. Single parts photographed on their own are for workshop price lists, spare parts shops and repair guides where a customer needs to recognise what they are buying.
What to check
Metal parts rely on reflections for their shape, so look at whether highlights survived the cut-out. Blurred or doubled edges, as on parts shot in motion, show badly at large sizes. Visible manufacturer markings are worth noting before you publish.
