Two very different brushes: a pair of orange toothbrushes shown front and back, and a thick magenta paint stroke that frays into dry bristle marks at both ends.

Tool and trace
In the Art section, Brush sits beside Painting, Watercolor and Palette. Where those show finished pictures and the paint itself, this category collects what a brush leaves behind — and, by way of the word, brushes of every kind, including the ones in a bathroom.
Picking the right one
A painted stroke is a layout device: lay it behind a headline, a price or a section number so the text has something to sit on. The toothbrushes are plain product shots for dental care pages, hygiene leaflets and shop listings.
What makes a good stroke
The dry, broken edge is the whole point, so check that the transparency follows every bristle gap instead of filling it with a solid outline. Recolouring is easiest when the stroke is a single flat colour, as the magenta one is.
